Equipment

The new station was dedicated on May 4, 2003.   The new station has a total footprint of 11,955 square feet with 6,900 square feet of truck bays and 8,550 square feet of finished office area.  The building has a structural steel construction with an exterior composed of 14’ masonry block and steel wall panels.  The roof is also constructed of steel panels.

The bay area of the station provides sufficient parking for 9 apparatus.  The bay area includes 3 double deep drive-through bays and 3 single deep standard bays.   The apparatus bay area also includes an SCBA/compressor shop, a maintenance shop, a laundry room, a restroom, and a generator room.  The second story above the shop area is a dedicated storage area.

The finished office area of the station encompasses two stories.  The first floor consists of a radio/dispatch area, the district board room, two offices, a large training/meeting room, a kitchen, a storage/housekeeping room and two restrooms.  The second floor includes a large recreation room, future bunk rooms (which are currently being used for storage and meeting rooms), female and male shower rooms, an office, a dayroom area and two mechanical rooms.

The new station was constructed by H & H Construction Services of Carlinville, IL.

Tanker 1 is a 1989 Marion tanker.  Tanker 1 carries 2200 gallons of water. It carries of crew of 2 firefighters.  The vehicle inventory includes the following equipment: 3000 gallon porta-tank, compliments of over 10 different adapters, compliments of miscellaneous hand tools, 1000' of 2 1/2" hose, portable pump, medical equipment including trauma bag.
Brush Truck 1 is a 1991 GMC four wheel drive brush truck.  It can pump 500 gallons of water per minute and carries 250 gallons of water.  It carries of crew of 2 firefighters.  The vehicle inventory includes the following equipment: Compliment of 5 different nozzles,  Compliment of over 10 different adapters, Compliment of over 5 forcible entry tools, Compliment of miscellaneous hand tools, 200’ of 2 ½” hose, 200’ of 1 ¾” hose, 300’ of 1” forestry hose, Medical equipment including trauma bag .
Squad 1 is a 1994 Road Rescue squad vehicle.  It carries of crew of 7 firefighters. The vehicle inventory includes the following equipment: 5 - Self-contained breathing apparatus, Compliment of two different types of ladders, Compliment of over 10 forcible entry tools, Compliment of miscellaneous hand tools, Compliment of electric and battery operated saws and drills, Compliment of salvage and overhaul supplies, Floating portable pump, 3 - Ventilation fans, 2 – Chain saws, 2 – Rescue saws, 8 Kw Generator and portable lights, 4 Bottle cascade system, 4 Gas Analyzer, Rapid intervention team kit, Hydraulic rescue tool system with spreaders, cutters and rams, Air bag set, Large inventory of cribbing, Water rescue equipment including PFDs, throw bags and life ring, Confined space rescue equipment including ropes, tripod, and harnesses, Haz mat response equipment including special PPE and patching equipment, , Medical equipment including trauma bag, AED and backboards.
Engine 1 is a 1986 Pierce pumper.  It can pump 1,000 gallons of water per minute and carries 750 gallons of water.  It carries of crew of 4 firefighters.  The vehicle inventory includes the following equipment: 4 - Self-contained breathing apparatus, 1000 gallon per minute master stream monitor, Compliment of over 10 different nozzles, Compliment of over 20 different adapters, Compliment of three different types of ladders, Compliment of over 10 forcible entry tools, Compliment of miscellaneous hand tools, 25 gallons of foam, foam eductors and Class A foam system, 1000’ of 5” supply hose, 500’ of 2 ½” hose, 500’ of 1 ¾” hose, Ventilation fan, Chain saw, 4 Kw Generator and portable lights, Medical equipment including trauma bag, AED and backboards.
Engine 2 is a 1976 FMC/John Bean pumper.  It can pump 1,000 gallons of water per minute and carries 750 gallons of water.  It carries of crew of 2 firefighters.  The vehicle inventory includes the following equipment: 2 - Self-contained breathing apparatus, 1000 gallon per minute master stream monitor, Compliment of over 10 different nozzles, Compliment of over 20 different adapters, Compliment of three different types of ladders, Compliment of over 10 forcible entry tools, Compliment of miscellaneous hand tools, 25 gallons of foam and foam eductors, 1000’ of 5” supply hose, 500’ of 2 ½” hose, 500’ of 1 ¾” hose, Portable pump, 4 Kw Generator and portable lights, Medical equipment including trauma bag and backboards.
Engine 3 is a 2000 Pierce pumper/tanker.  It can pump 1,500 gallons of water per minute and carries 1500 gallons of water.  It carries of crew of 6 firefighters.  The vehicle inventory includes the following equipment: 6 - Self-contained breathing apparatus, 1250 gallon per minute master stream monitor, Compliment of over 10 different nozzles, Compliment of over 20 different adapters, Compliment of three different types of ladders, Compliment of over 10 forcible entry tools, Compliment of miscellaneous hand tools25 gallons of foam, foam eductors and Class A foam system, 1000’ of 5” supply hose500’ of 3” hose, 500’ of 1 ¾” hose, 1500 gallon portable tank, Floating portable pump,   Ventilation fan, 8 Kw Generator and portable lights, 4 Gas Analyzer, Rapid intervention team kit, Hydraulic rescue tool system with combination spreader/cutter, Medical equipment including trauma bag, AED and backboards.
